  • Direct Vietnam Airlines flights to Beijing
  • Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace
  • Qianmen, Longfu Temple quarter and Peking duck

A five-day small-group tour on direct Vietnam Airlines flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing, a compact route for southern travellers who want the Chinese capital on its own. The overnight flight lands early in the morning, so the first day already includes photos at the Bird’s Nest stadium, a walk along the 570-year-old Qianmen pedestrian street and a roast duck dinner. Next comes the Great Wall, the old Longfu Temple quarter now being revived as a cultural district, and the Summer Palace; the final full day is for Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City before the morning flight home. The price includes flights with 23 kg checked baggage, a group visa for Vietnamese passports, 4-star hotels, meals, entrance tickets, a tour leader and local guides. The itinerary includes showroom stops for latex products, herbal medicine and jade. Ideal for families and friends from the south visiting Beijing for the first time on a full-service airline.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1 · Ho Chi Minh City – overnight flight

At around 21:30 the tour leader meets you at Tan Son Nhat Airport to check in for the Vietnam Airlines flight that leaves after midnight for Beijing; the night is spent in the air.

  2. Day 2 · Beijing – Bird’s Nest – Qianmen

Land early, clear immigration and have breakfast. Take photos outside the 2008 Olympic Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, then walk Qianmen pedestrian street with its old shops and nearby hutongs, with a stop at latex and herbal medicine showrooms. Dinner is Peking roast duck, then check in at the hotel.

  3. Day 3 · Great Wall – Longfu Temple quarter – Summer Palace

After breakfast, visit the Great Wall as it snakes over the mountains. Back in the city, explore the Longfu Temple quarter, where hutong heritage mixes with shops, restaurants and performance spaces. After lunch and a jade showroom stop, visit the Summer Palace, retreat of Empress Dowager Cixi, and see the Water Cube from outside; dinner and overnight in Beijing.

  4. Day 4 · Tiananmen – Forbidden City

In the morning, visit Tiananmen Square, framed by the Mao Memorial Hall, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum. Then enter the Forbidden City, the palace complex begun in 1406. If palace tickets are unavailable at peak times, the group visits the Temple of Heaven instead. Dinner and a final night in Beijing.

  5. Day 5 · Beijing – Ho Chi Minh City

Check out and transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City, with a meal on board. You land around midday, where the tour ends.
