A four-day package flying from Ho Chi Minh City on Thursdays that fits four heritage areas of central Vietnam into one trip: Da Nang, Hoi An, Quang Binh and Hue. After a first day at Son Tra and Hoi An Old Town, you spend the second morning on Ba Na Hills before continuing to Hue; day three is a boat trip up the Son River into Phong Nha Cave, stopping on the way at La Vang sanctuary and the Hien Luong Bridge on the Ben Hai River. The last day covers the Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda and an incense village before flying home from Hue. The price includes return flights with checked baggage, 3–4 star hotels, main meals as listed, entrance fees and a guide. It is a full itinerary, best for active travellers who want beaches, an old town, caves and an imperial capital in just a few days.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1 · Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang – Son Tra – Hoi An

    Check in at Tan Son Nhat Airport about two hours ahead and fly to Da Nang. The coach takes you up Son Tra to Linh Ung Pagoda, then a lunch of rice paper rolls with pork and mi Quang before check-in. In the afternoon visit the Non Nuoc stone village and Hoi An for the Covered Bridge, old houses, assembly halls and lantern streets; dinner there is your own choice and the group heads back to Da Nang around 8pm.

  2. Day 2 · Dragon Bridge – Ba Na Hills – on to Hue

    Breakfast, check-out and photos at the Love Bridge and carp-dragon statue. Head up Ba Na Hills for Fantasy Park, the French Village, the Golden Bridge, Linh Ung Pagoda, the wine cellar and gardens; the cable car ticket with buffet lunch is an optional purchase. Around 3:30pm drive to Hue through the Hai Van tunnel, check in, have dinner and enjoy a free evening, perhaps with traditional music on the Perfume River at your own cost.

  3. Day 3 · La Vang – Hien Luong Bridge – Phong Nha Cave

    After breakfast, leave around 7am for Quang Binh, stopping at La Vang sanctuary and crossing the 17th parallel at the Hien Luong Bridge on the Ben Hai River while your guide explains its history. Lunch in Phong Nha, then a boat ride up the Son River into Phong Nha Cave in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, a natural World Heritage Site. Return to Hue along the Truong Son road for dinner and the night.

  4. Day 4 · Imperial City – Thien Mu Pagoda – fly home from Hue

    Breakfast and check-out, then from about 9am tour the Imperial City with the Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, the Forbidden Purple City, The Mieu temple and the Nine Urns, and visit Thien Mu Pagoda. After lunch, stop at the incense and conical-hat village and shop for local specialities. Around 5pm transfer to Hue airport for the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City.
