Day-by-day itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1 · Ho Chi Minh City – Taipei

   The tour leader meets you at the Tan Son Nhat international terminal for the early-evening flight to Taipei and the overnight connection to Los Angeles. Meals and rest on board.

2. 2

   Day 2 · Arrive in Los Angeles

   Thanks to the time difference you reach Los Angeles the same evening local time. After immigration, the coach takes you to the hotel to rest after the long flight.

3. 3

   Day 3 · Tijuana (Mexico) – San Diego

   Check out and cross the US–Mexico border with the guide for about three hours in Tijuana, seeing the cultural centre, Avenida Revolución, the Cuauhtémoc monument and shopping areas. At midday return to San Diego for Balboa Park, Old Town and exterior photos of the USS Midway (boarding ticket at your own cost); evening back in Los Angeles.

   Day 4 · Hollywood – Beverly Hills – Las Vegas

   Walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame, see the TCL Chinese Theatre, take photos outside the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars, and the Universal Studios gates, then drive through Beverly Hills. After lunch, cross the Mojave Desert on Route 66 to Las Vegas; dinner and check-in.

   Day 5 · Valley of Fire – Bellagio – The Venetian – Fremont Street

   In the morning visit the Valley of Fire reserve with its blazing red sandstone ridges. In the afternoon see the Bellagio fountains and indoor garden and The Venetian, styled on Venice, with free time in the evening for the light show on Fremont Street. Grand Canyon West can be added at your own cost.

   Day 6 · Las Vegas – Orange County – LAX

   Check out, take photos at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and stop at Seven Magic Mountains in the desert before driving to Orange County. Visit the Phuoc Loc Tho mall with free time to shop or meet family; lunch and dinner at your own cost. In the evening transfer to the airport for the flight home.

   Day 7 · In flight – Taipei

   A day in the air crossing the date line, with a connection in Taipei for the flight to Vietnam.

8. 8

   Day 8 · Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

   Land at Tan Son Nhat, clear immigration, collect your luggage and say goodbye to the tour leader.

Good to know

• Passports must be valid for more than 6 months from departure, signed and undamaged
• Vietnamese passport holders need a US visa and must attend an interview at a US consulate in person; we help with the application and interview booking and give you the deadline when booking. The visa fee is not included and the decision rests with the consulate. Tell us when booking if you already hold a valid US visa or travel on another passport
• Departures in the next few weeks suit only guests who already hold a valid US visa; if you still need one, choose a date far enough ahead for the application and interview
• Tijuana (Mexico) is a bonus visit; crossing into Mexico depends on each guest’s US visa type and documents, which we will check when booking
• The 28 December departure flies into Ontario Airport near Los Angeles instead of LAX; holiday departures are priced separately
• You travel with the group both ways and may not leave it outside the free time in the itinerary
• Group tours need a minimum number of guests to depart; if it is not reached, we will tell you in advance and agree a new date or a refund
• Children have separate rates by age; guests aged 70 and over need a health certificate and a relative travelling with them, and pregnant guests should tell us before booking
