A nine-day small-group tour to celebrate Lunar New Year in America, with five consecutive departures from the 28th day of the last lunar month to the 2nd day of Tet, flying from Ho Chi Minh City via Taiwan to San Francisco and home from Los Angeles. Your San Francisco day includes a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, flower-lined Lombard Street, the Palace of Fine Arts and Union Square, then on through Silicon Valley, home to many big technology companies. The group travels down central California via the Danish-style village of Solvang to Orange County, then south to San Diego for the USS Midway, the Hotel del Coronado and La Jolla Cove. Los Angeles brings the Walk of Fame, the TCL Chinese Theatre and Beverly Hills, followed by Las Vegas with the Hoover Dam, the Red Rock Canyon reserve, an outlet mall and the Bellagio. The price includes international flights, 3-star hotels, meals, transport, a Vietnamese-speaking guide and tips for the guide and driver; the US visa and paid entrance fees are extra.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 · Ho Chi Minh City – Taiwan – San Francisco
The guide meets the group at Tan Son Nhat for the flight to the US with a connection in Taiwan. You land in San Francisco the same day local time, clear immigration, have dinner and check in.
Day 2 · San Francisco – Silicon Valley
In the morning, walk part of the Golden Gate Bridge, wander Pier 39 by the bay and drive down twisting, flower-lined Lombard Street. After lunch, photograph the Palace of Fine Arts, Union Square, City Hall and the financial district, then pass through Silicon Valley; dinner and overnight.
Day 3 · Solvang – Orange County
Check out and head south to Solvang, a village of Danish architecture and customs, for lunch. In the afternoon drive past the orchards of central California to Orange County and visit the Phuoc Loc Tho mall in Little Saigon; dinner and overnight.
Day 4 · San Diego
Travel to San Diego, a seaside city with a major naval base. Take exterior photos of the USS Midway and the Embracing Peace statue, explore Old Town, see the Victorian Hotel del Coronado and La Jolla Cove with its sea lions; back to Los Angeles in the evening.
Day 5 · Hollywood – Beverly Hills – Las Vegas
Walk the Walk of Fame, see the TCL Chinese Theatre, photograph the Universal Studios gates from outside and drive through Beverly Hills. After lunch, cross the Mojave on Route 66 to Las Vegas; dinner, check-in and a free evening.
Day 6 · Hoover Dam – Red Rock Canyon – Bellagio
After breakfast, visit the Hoover Dam, opened in 1936, and the Red Rock Canyon reserve with its long red cliffs in the desert. In the afternoon shop at a Las Vegas outlet mall and stroll the Bellagio fountains and indoor garden; free evening.
Day 7 · Las Vegas – Los Angeles – airport
Take photos at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and stop at Seven Magic Mountains and the Barstow outlets on the way back to Los Angeles. In the afternoon there is time at a supermarket for American groceries and pharmacy goods; dinner, then the flight home.
Day 8 · In flight
A day on board, connecting at the transit airport for the flight to Vietnam.
Day 9 · Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive at Tan Son Nhat, clear immigration, collect your luggage and say goodbye to the guide.

Good to know
- Passports must be valid for more than 6 months from departure, signed and undamaged
- Vietnamese passport holders need a US visa and must attend an interview at a US consulate in person; we help with the application and interview booking and give you the deadline when booking. The visa fee is not included and the decision rests with the consulate. Tell us when booking if you already hold a valid US visa or travel on another passport
- The five departures are 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 February 2027 (from the 28th of the last lunar month to the 2nd of Tet), all at the same price
- The planned airline is Starlux Airlines and may change as stated in the programme; February is cool on the West Coast and cold in Las Vegas mornings and evenings, so pack a jacket
- The price section of the programme lists Ho Chi Minh City – Los Angeles flights while the itinerary flies to San Francisco; we will confirm the routing when booking
- The order of visits, airline, flight times and hotels may change; hotel names are confirmed at the pre-departure briefing
- Group tours need a minimum number of guests to depart; if it is not reached, we will tell you in advance and agree a new date or a refund
- Children have separate rates by age; guests aged 70 and over need a health certificate and a relative travelling with them, and pregnant guests should tell us before booking
