Day-by-day itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1 · Ho Chi Minh City – Shanghai – Wuzhen

   Meet at Tan Son Nhat international terminal before dawn for the flight to Pudong, landing in the morning. Walk around Lujiazui, photograph the Oriental Pearl from outside and visit the City God Temple area before lunch. In the afternoon head to Wuzhen West and check in to a 5-star hotel inside the old town.

2. 2

   Day 2 · Wuzhen – Qingshan Lake – Hangzhou

   After breakfast and check-out, take a boat through the metasequoia forest of Qingshan Lake, its surface carpeted with green duckweed. In the afternoon cruise West Lake past the Su and Bai causeways, Broken Bridge and the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. Barbecue dinner and overnight in Hangzhou; the Songcheng show is optional at your own cost.

3. 3

   Day 3 · Hangzhou – Shanghai

   A two-hour drive back to Shanghai to explore Xintiandi’s restored stone-gate houses and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. In the afternoon photograph the ship-shaped The Louis building from outside. In the evening you can take a Huangpu cruise or ride the metro around the city at night at your own cost.

4. 4

   Day 4 · Shanghai – free day or Disneyland

   Breakfast at the hotel, with transport to Disneyland or the city centre. Spend the day at Disneyland, go up a Lujiazui observation deck or explore food streets; tickets, lunch and dinner today are at your own cost. Overnight in Shanghai.

5. 5

   Day 5 · Shanghai – airport

   Check out and stroll the Bund and the Nanjing Road pedestrian street, then lunch on hairy-crab noodles. In the afternoon visit Tianzifang, a maze of lanes and art studios in old stone-gate houses, and Wukang Road with its French-style villas. After dinner transfer to Pudong for the night flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

6. 6

   Day 6 · Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

   The flight lands at Tan Son Nhat around 3 a.m.; clear immigration and say goodbye as the trip ends.
