Grand Hyatt Beijing stands at the corner of East Chang An Avenue and the south end of Wangfujing Street, less than a kilometre from Tiananmen Square. Its curved glass towers and fountain forecourt are a familiar sight on Chang An Avenue, and the wide lobby has a reception desk set before a large relief panel. Rooms are in warm beige with big windows onto the city, with twin rooms for families and corner suites with a glass-walled living room. Guests have a pool, a spa, a gym, room service, airport transfers, family rooms and facilities for children; check-in is after 15:00 and check-out by 12:00. Set between Tiananmen and the shopping streets, it suits a first visit to Beijing when you want to cover as much as possible on foot.
