Paddington Hotel Halong Bayview is at 02 Dien Bien Phu Street on the Hon Gai side, a high-rise that faces straight out over the bay. Many rooms have curved glass walls running almost the length of the room, taking in the water, the limestone islands and the streets of Hon Gai below. Interiors are white and grey with quilted headboards and turquoise cushions, and the lobby has a high ceiling hung with cloud-shaped lights. There is a pool, a spa, a gym, family rooms, a restaurant, a bar, airport transfers and help with booking tours. A good fit if you want to stay on the Hon Gai side, near the markets and local eateries, while still waking up to a bay view.
