Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun is a four-star hotel on Sambong-ro, about four hundred metres from Insadong and under a kilometre from Gyeongbokgung Palace. From here you can walk to Bukchon village, the Cheonggyecheon stream and the busy lunch spots around Jongno. Rooms are beige and tidy, and many higher floors look over the city lights; twin rooms suit friends travelling together. There is a fitness room, family rooms, a breakfast buffet restaurant and a 24-hour front desk; check-in from 15:00, check-out by 12:00. Ideal if you want to stay near the palaces and old streets for less than a five-star.
