The Peninsula New York sits at Fifth Avenue and 55th Street among the famous fashion houses, about two hundred metres from MoMA and three hundred and fifty metres from the edge of Central Park. The historic building has a carved stone facade, and its lobby centres on a double staircase in red marble flanked by large potted trees. Rooms pair white with navy blue and tall windows, many have their own sitting area, and marble bathrooms come with deep tubs. It is one of the few Midtown hotels with a swimming pool, along with a spa, a fitness room, a terrace, a 24-hour front desk, private check-in and check-out, honeymoon rooms and airport transfers. The rooftop bar looks over the towers to a corner of the park, perfect for couples after a luxurious stay in the middle of town.
