The Tokyo Station Hotel is set inside the red-brick Marunouchi building of Tokyo Station, an early 20th-century landmark that has been restored, about 700 m from the Ōtemon Gate of the Imperial Palace. From the lobby you are steps from the Shinkansen and JR platforms, very handy for onward trips to Kyoto, Osaka or the airport. Rooms are in classic European style, with tall padded headboards, chandeliers and arched period windows; some look down on the station plaza.
