Japan travel guide
Tokyo, Mount Fuji, the old capital of Kyoto and Osaka. Hotels, tours and things to do in Japan we sell, with real people to help 8:00–22:00 (GMT+7).
Overview
A first trip to Japan usually follows the Golden Route of Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka over 5–6 days: modern cities, Mount Fuji, ancient temples and great food. Come in spring for cherry blossom or autumn for red leaves; in winter you can add the snowy village of Shirakawa-go.
Late March to early April brings cherry blossom and October to November autumn leaves; winter brings snow to the mountains, and June to July is the rainy season.
Direct flights link Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Tokyo (Narita, Haneda) and Osaka (Kansai), taking about 4 to 6 hours depending on the route.
5 to 6 days for the Tokyo – Fuji – Kyoto – Osaka route; add a few days for Hokkaido or the Japanese Alps.
Visa rules depend on your passport: many nationalities can visit Japan visa-free for a short stay, while Vietnamese passport holders need a visa. Check the current rules before you travel.

FAQ
Do I need a visa for Japan?
It depends on your passport. Many nationalities can enter Japan visa-free for a short holiday, while others, including Vietnamese passport holders, need a visa. Check the current rules for your nationality with the Japanese embassy or consulate before you travel. Your passport should be valid for the whole stay. Our group tours from Vietnam include a group visa for Vietnamese passport holders.
When is the best time to visit Japan?
Late March to early April is cherry-blossom season and October to November brings autumn leaves; both are the busiest times. Winter (December to February) brings snow to the mountains, ideal for Shirakawa-go or snow play near Mount Fuji. June and July are rainy, and midsummer is hot and humid. Bloom and leaf timing varies with each year’s weather.
Which route is best for a first visit?
For a first visit, the Golden Route of Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka over 5–6 days shows you the modern capital, Fuji, Kyoto’s temples and Osaka’s food streets. For a gentler pace choose the 5-day Fuji and Tokyo tour; if you love snow and old villages, pick the winter Shirakawa-go tour.
How soon is my hotel booking confirmed?
We hold the room with the hotel and confirm within 4 working hours (8:00–22:00, GMT+7). You are not charged until the room is confirmed.
How do I pay?
By card through OnePay, charged in VND, with 3-D Secure. Prices on this page include taxes and fees.
