InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu is set inside the Hôtel-Dieu, a historic domed former hospital on the Rhône, about 400 m from Place Bellecour. It stands on the Presqu’île between the Rhône and the Saône, Lyon’s shopping and dining heart; across the Saône lie Vieux Lyon and Fourvière hill. Rooms have high ceilings and tall arched windows with modern furnishings in grey and brass, some looking onto the courtyards or the Rhône. After a day in town you can unwind in the spa or fitness room; the hotel also has children’s facilities, family rooms and transfers to Lyon airport. The Hôtel-Dieu building checks guests in from 15:00 and out by 12:00. For travellers stopping in Lyon for a night or two of food and old-town walks before heading south or to the Alps.
