Bamboo Sapa Hotel is a 4-star hotel at 18 Muong Hoa Road, at the top of the slope just off the centre and a few minutes' walk from the stone church. Rooms are panelled in walnut with blue upholstered chairs and bed runners woven in ethnic patterns, and many balconies look down into the Muong Hoa valley. Higher categories have a freestanding tub and grey stone bathrooms; there is a 24-hour front desk, fireplaces and family rooms. Besides the pool, spa and gym, the hotel has a restaurant and can help book tickets and cars to the villages around Sa Pa. Suits first-time visitors who want the centre and a valley view at a gentle price.
