My Gallery Boutique Hotel & Spa is a 4-star hotel at 69B Muong Hoa Road, on the stretch that follows the valley rim south of town. The look is black-and-white Indochine: chequered tiles, dark four-poster beds, moss-green curtains and gilded brass fittings in the bathrooms. Corner rooms have glass doors and wrought-iron balconies facing the mountains, and early mornings often bring a blanket of cloud just below. There is a spa, jacuzzi, gym, family and soundproofed rooms, heating and fireplaces, and the centre is about ten minutes' walk uphill. Perfect for couples who like a small hotel with taste, bright rooms and windows onto a sea of clouds.
