Sapa Highland Resort & Spa is a 5-star property at 7 Thac Bac Street, west of the centre and about ten minutes on foot down to Sa Pa Lake. The building steps up the hillside and glows against the mountains at night; rooms are clad in pine with brocade-framed headboards and warm wooden floors. Upper-floor windows take in the whole town with Ham Rong mountain behind, and suites add their own leather-furnished living room. There is a pool, spa, gym, family rooms, a fireplace in the shared spaces, children's facilities and meeting rooms for groups. Right for families and larger groups wanting to stay near the centre in roomy, timber-rich surroundings.
