Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket sits at the southern end of Karon Beach, a long, wide stretch of sand south of Patong, about twenty minutes by car from Patong’s nightlife. The resort’s terracotta-pink colonial architecture, chequered lobby floors and big garden run right down to the sand, and the grounds include a multi-level pool area with a lazy river and slides. Rooms are spacious, with timber ceilings, fans and balconies over the garden or sea. There is a spa, a fitness room, children’s facilities, family rooms and airport transfers; check-in at 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Ideal for families who want to be right on the beach, with plenty of sand for the children and full days spent inside the resort.
