Emporium Hotel South Bank is on Grey Street in South Bank on the southern side of the Brisbane River, steps from the riverside parklands, museums and theatres. It is a newer hotel, and many upper-floor rooms have big windows over the river and the city towers on the far bank. Interiors are white and cream with ornate gilded mirror frames, and an upper-floor lounge has a piano and sofas facing the city. Guests have a pool, a spa, a gym, a 24-hour front desk, a restaurant, a bar, family rooms, kids’ facilities and airport transfers; check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Great for families with young children, with the parklands on the doorstep and evening walks along the lit-up river.
