InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto is at 495 Collins Street on the western side of the centre, about five hundred metres from Southern Cross station and half a kilometre from the Crown precinct across the river. The hotel joins two historic buildings under a tall glass-roofed atrium, keeping the old brick walls and arched windows. Rooms are in beige and brown, with the bed beneath an arched window in some, and bathrooms are roomy with a tub and twin basins. Guests have a pool, a spa, a gym, a 24-hour front desk, room service, family rooms, kids’ facilities and airport transfers; check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Ideal for lovers of old architecture and for catching the airport bus or day tours from Southern Cross.
