InterContinental Sydney is on Phillip Street, about two hundred and fifty metres from Circular Quay and some four hundred metres from the Royal Botanic Garden. The lobby is set in a historic sandstone building with arched colonnades and high ceilings, while the rooms are in the tower behind it. Rooms are in white and ocean blue with large windows, many facing the Opera House or the bridge, and there are family rooms and suites with a lounge area. Guests have a pool, a spa, a gym, room service, kids’ facilities and airport transfers; check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Suits early risers who like a morning walk through the gardens to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for harbour views.
