Park Hyatt Melbourne is on Parliament Square at the eastern edge of the centre, just a hundred and thirty metres from St Patrick’s Cathedral and some four hundred metres from Fitzroy Gardens. The area is much quieter than the shopping streets, and an early walk through the old trees brings you down to Collins Street. The round lobby has a gilded ceiling, rooms are panelled in deep red timber, many suites have a fireplace and a separate living room, and marble bathrooms have round tubs.
