The morning is spent at the Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvests, crowned by the round, triple-roofed Hall of Prayer in blue glazed tiles. The coach then heads north to the Mutianyu Great Wall for a walk along the ramparts above the forest.
