My Son Sanctuary is a complex of Cham temple towers set in a forested valley about an hour by car from Hoi An, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The red-brick towers were built over several centuries and many carvings are still crisp; your guide explains the beliefs, brick-building techniques and history of the Champa kingdom. The half-day tour includes transport and a guide, with the commentary language chosen at booking. Paths around the ruins are flat but exposed to the sun, so go early, wear a hat and bring water.
