Fansipan summit trek, 3 days 2 nights (limousine from Hanoi)

This programme is for travellers who want to climb Fansipan on foot rather than take the cable car, with a limousine transfer between Hanoi and Sa Pa. The trail runs through bamboo and rhododendron forest and steep rocky sections of Hoang Lien National Park, usually with a night in a mountain hut before the summit push. You walk with a guide and local trail leaders; good fitness, hiking boots, warm clothes and a rain jacket are essential.
